Stapleton Central Park walk
The Stapleton Central Park is on the site of the former Denver international airport. But in 1995, when the airport moved farther out from the metro, this location was planned to be redesigned into a pedestrian based city park and entertainment center. The 80 acres of park include athletic fields, jogging and biking paths, sledding hill, amphitheater, covered picnic areas, large playgrounds with climbing boulders, bocce ball courts, small lake for RC boating, barbecue areas, and indoor facilities.
The day we went, there was a Pugs in the Park event going to benefit the Colorado Pug Rescue society. Here is what we saw that day:

The pedestrian and bike based park has lots of entertainment and fitness based areas and equipment.
This is looking over a large open area, back towards downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains. You can also see the old control tower that they have left standing in the park that was the location of the former airport.
